We brought you the first vague details of the Opel Monza concept last month, but now GM Europe has released more details and pictures of its Frankfurt motor show star. The 4,690mm long Monza crosses coupé with wagon to create a gull-winged shooting brake that's just 1,310mm high. Its layered, lightweight aesthetic is said to represent the brand's new language and also marks the return of Mark Adams to the European arm of GM.
It's been almost a year since General Motors announced the end of the road for Pontiac. While the century-old brand has now joined Oldsmobile, Plymouth and a long list of other iconic makes in the automotive afterlife, the collector market remains more alive than ever. A lineup of 27 classic Pontiacs, including 17 GTOs, will cross the auction block in June.
Nissan said Thursday that Austrian contract manufacturer Magna Steyr will build a new premium compact car for the Infiniti brand, starting in 2014. Infiniti boss Andy Palmer said in a statement that the car will help the brand to reach new consumers and grow in key markets such as western Europe. Nissan did not give any more details about the car or say whether it will be sold in markets outside Europe such as the United States.
